What week is it? It’s National Curry Week!

If you’ve ever wondered why we celebrate it, here’s the story. The very first National Curry Week was held in October 1998, founded by the late Peter Grove, a journalist who fell in love with curry. His goal was to celebrate the growing Indian restaurant scene in the UK and raise funds for charity along the way.
So, in the spirit of National Curry Week, we’re bringing you six unique curries you won’t find anywhere else:
- Vegan Kathal Lazeez (Jackfruit Curry)– Tender pieces of young jackfruit slow cooked in a onion and tomato gravy until they soak up every bit of flavour. With its meaty texture and smoky undertones, this rich curry could easily fool you into thinking it’s a traditional meat dish. Except it’s completely plant based and absolutely divine.
- Paneer / Vegan Malai Kofta– Golden, melt in your mouth dumplings of paneer or vegan cashew cream served in a silky, aromatic sauce. The balance of gentle sweetness, nutty depth, and just a hint of spice makes this royal dish pure indulgence. It’s comfort food with an elegant twist.
- Vegan Kaju Masala – Whole cashews simmered to perfection in a creamy, spiced gravy that celebrates the natural richness of kaju. It’s indulgent, slightly sweet, and has that festival day warmth that makes every bite feel special. A curry that turns simple ingredients into something luxurious.
- Vegan Kaju Karela – An unexpected harmony of flavours where the light bitterness of karela (bitter gourd) meets the buttery crunch of cashews. Together they create a curry that’s bold, earthy, and surprisingly addictive. Even those who don’t like karela will ask for seconds.
- Mild and Vegan Kela nu Shaak (Ripe Banana Curry)– Yes, banana in a curry. Sweet, ripe bananas mingle with tangy spices to create a dish that’s as playful as it is delicious. It’s a Gujarati classic that dances between sweet, sour, and spicy. A flavour experience you won’t forget.
- Vegan Bhindi Anari (Okra with Pomegranate) – Crisp okra tossed with jewel like pomegranate seeds in a tangy, spiced masala. Every bite bursts with freshness, the perfect mix of crunch, zest, and subtle sweetness. This one proves that even humble bhindi can be a showstopper.
If you trust us, trust that we can turn even a sweet, ripe banana into a curry that’ll make you question everything you thought you knew about curries.
And that cashew curry? Creamy, rich, and indulgent, it’s the kind of dish that makes you close your eyes after the first bite. It’s smooth, nutty, and utterly addictive, a true reminder that comfort food doesn’t have to be ordinary.
Pair these curries with a warm, buttery garlic naan because life’s too short to skip naan, and you’ve got yourself a meal that’ll make National Curry Week feel like a festival.
We’re not just saying this. We’ve got a little street cred to back it up. We’re the proud winners of the Nation’s Curry Awards 2024 and 2025, and nominees at the English Curry Awards UK. So yes, you can trust us with any curry you order. We take curry very, very seriously so you don’t have to. Visit our menu here to check out our other curries.
